"ON OR NEAR THIS SITE........"

Built of out tiny pieces of hand fired glass, some painted, some gilded, this giant mosaic by Eugene Francis Savage (1883-1978) was dedicated to the history of Manhattan in the midtown area. It was installed by the artist, with the help of his assistants, and on display at a branch of the First National Citibank in 1963, and housed there until mid 2010.
